For most of life, nothing wonderful happens. If you don’t enjoy getting up and working and finishing your work and sitting down to a good meal with family or friends, then the chances are that your not going to be very happy. If someone based his happiness or unhappiness on major events like a great new job, huge amounts of money, a flawless happy marriage or a trip to paris, that person isn’t going to be Beth happy much of the time. If on the other hand, happiness depends on a good breakfast, flowers in the yard, a drink or a nap, then we are more likely to live with quite a bit of happiness.

You know how it feels right before a tornado hits? I mean when the sky’s still clear, but the winds starting to cool off and change direction. You know something’s coming, but you don’t always know what. That’s how things feel to me right now.

Maybe some people just aren’t meant to be in our lives forever. Maybe some people are just passing through. It’s like some people just come through our lives to bring us something, a gift, a blessing, a lesson we need to learn.

It’s easier to remember only the good parts of people if you never see them. Real people are much more complicated.

Today, is ANZAC day. (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps)
By reblogging this, you will now have the Red Poppy on your blog, which signifies remembrance to those that fought or aided in the war.
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

lest we forget ♥

Songs and smells will bring you back to a moment in time more than anything else. Its amazing how much can be conjured with a few notes of a song or a solitary whiff of a room. A song you didn’t even pay attention to at the time, a place that you didn’t even know had a particular smell.
